This nice dubbel is the first big bomber bottle I’ve had in quiet some time. It was a very nice dark body with a medium off white head that gave a nice strong aroma of dark fruits and slight hop notes. When tasting, the beer flowed over the pallet easy with smooth light body and minimal linger.
Lovely latest brews that I was able to try. They were delicious from my wonderful girlfriend. She is too good to me.
As of this post, the blog will be taking a change in direction. I have moved out the San Diego area and this blog will be more on anything I drink. However I will continue to focus on local beer and wine. Hopefully some people will still enjoy.
After a long time, some anticipation, and three good friends, I had the pleasure of drinking through the Stone vertical epic series. Except for that 2002. Great times. Great beer. And a headache the next day. I can think of no better way to end my stay in this wonderful county. It’s been a pleasure and I am ready for new things.
As for this blog. It will be less of San Diego and more just craft beer so watch out for new things.
I thought about trying to take tasting notes, however I just enjoyed drinking. Many notes on this series can be found around the web.
Stone Brewing Espresso Imperial Russian Stout - ABV 11%
This 2013 odd year release was rich with a small caramel colored head with a deep black body which had roasted and slightly burn coffee aroma. The body was very smooth and rich with a slightly burn and bitter after taste of coffee. Overall this was a good beer.
This wonderful and golden ale sported a small white head which had fruit and spice aromas. When sipping, it was a very smooth with mild dark fruit and spice notes which ended slightly bitter and finished quickly.
